Sunday car rental Naples to Montepulciano

I'm leaving Naples on an upcoming Sunday in March and heading up to Montepulciano. I was hoping to train up to Montepulciano region and pick up a rental car in that area, but it looks like all are closed on Sunday. I'm leaning towards just renting a car in Naples and driving up to my agritourismo on Sunday. Options like train up to Rome and rent car or train/bus up to Montepulciano and call agritourismo to come pick us up Sunday night and rent car on Monday all seem to be worse options and more hassle than they're worth. I don't want to waste Sunday and make it just a travel day. Rental car one way drop off charge is worth it to me to have more time to chill out at agritourismo.

Heading up to Florence after that and can drop off car up there when done.

Seems like the best option is to drive from Naples. Thoughts? Suggestions? What am I missing?

Thx much

googlemaps show Naples to Montepulciano to be ~230 miles with an estimated travel time of 3-4 hrs.

Does not seem like driving from Naples consigns your day to being 'just travel'.

Or you could take a slower route--

...and enjoy the scenery on a less hectic route.

May not be ideal, but to me, driving from Naples looks better than any of the alternatives you outline.
