Sounds like a marketing gimmick! Although, I will admit, I've been watching my fare slowly creep up a few dollars a day for the past 6 weeks. Finally bit the bullet myself.

Unless the price of oil takes a serious dip, I wouldn't expect a real downward trend in prices. Airlines are driven heavily by fuel prices. The good news is oil is the highest it's been in several years so there is room for it to drop (although the projections I'm hearing is it will go higher still).
