Sulga Bus Fiumicino to Perugia

We are arriving at Fiumicino at 12:10 on a Saturday from Athens. We would like to take the Sulga bus to Perugia. Is it advisable/possible to purchase tickets now from the US? We will be arriving during the Jazz Festival. Also are there city buses to the town from the intercity bus station in Perugia? Thanks.

I think it's better to negotiate that travel by train instead of crappy buses. Just my opinion,
