Strike in Italy on Friday

I looked at the two sites recommended by Ron in Rome to look-up strikes for our upcoming vacation.

The first one (http://www.summerinitaly.com/planning/strike.asp) lists a Trenatalia strike for Friday, May 15.

The second site (http://www.commissionegaranziasciopero.it/) does not.

Do you know which one is more accurate? Is there a third place to look?

I looked on the Trenatalia website for guaranteed routes and see that our route from Pisa to La Spezia is guaranteed at 18:00 and 18:36. But the first website mentions the strike will only last until 16:49. Does that mean the trains will start running again on schedule at 5pm or will it still be choas?

Also it mentions there is a 24 hour local strike for trams and buses. Will there still be buses running from the Pisa Airport to the center?

Thanks!

I was in Italy last year when there was a strike. The first site you mention, summerinitaly.com was accurate, I don't know about the second one.

I got a lot of help organising my train travel for the day (we had to travel the day of the strike) from a lovely guy who posts on here, Tim, from Minot.

I can't help you with your question about the times, but I will say that we went from Venice to Milan and while the local trams and buses were on strike, private airport bus companies still operated, so we were able to get from Milan to Bergamo airport.

Thanks for that information.

I feel like every time I think about going to Pisa there is a train strike. I have been to the Pisa train station 4 times (and spent many hours there) but have never seen the tower because of the need to take the next train out to make sure we get to Florence or CT or somewhere else for the night.

Will the luggage storage at the train station still be available during a strike?

Also, if anyone else has more information I would appreciate it.

I think the luggage storage facility was closed when we left Venice during the strike, but I'm not 100% sure.

If the luggage storage is closed at the train station, does anyone have any recommendations for what to do with our luggage for the afternoon (we are flying into Pisa and sleeping in La Spezia)? I don't mind leaving the luggage at the airport and going back before catching the post-strike train out of town, but I don't know if there is luggage storage at the airport.

Secondly, are there buses from Pisa to La Spezia? I'm thinking if we can't get the luggage think sorted out we will skip Pisa and visit it on the way to Florence instead.
