is it really as complicated as it seems to use a eurail pass because right now I feel like I will not get anywhere because I wont have the right reservation or get on the right train??
I didn't find it complicated at all. In the train schedule that Eurail sends you the trains you need a reservation on have a little R next to them. Get reservations for those(e.g. Paris to Bern)and the ones you don't(e.g. Bern-Interlaken) just hop on the train and show the ticket guy your Eurail pass.
You best place to get train schedule information for all over Europe is from the German Rail query page. It will show you a lot more trains than that little Eurail schedule.
Where do you want to use the trains? That would help to give you advice on whether or not to buy a rail pass and how to buy tickets.
Eric, at this point, you've given us your stress problem but you haven't given us any information about where you intend to travel. Depending on the country, we can tell you which trains require additional supplements (i.e. seat reservations) and which don't. More detail please.
