We are travelling from Stockholm to Copenhagen and I can't decide whether it is better to take the train or fly. The prices are comparable. While the flight is shorter, would we be missing out by not taking the train? Thanks!!!
Flying will not save you very much time. The train is 5.5 hrs on the high speed train, and the flight is not much shorter than that when you add the time to get to Stockholm airport 30 miles north of the city, check-in 1.5 hrs before the flight, wait for the plane, etc (although the Copenhagen airport on the other end will go faster). And for the same money you get to see a lot of Sweden on the train.
The scenery between Copenhagen and Stockholm is not extraordinary - actually a bit dull. Bu you will cross the Øresund Bridge which is quite impressive, although you don't really see the bridge from the bridge itself!
Copenhagen airport is not far from the city center and easily accessible with a cheap and short metro ride from downtown Copenhagen. Stockholm Arlanda airport is quite far away from the city and expensive to get to and from.
I would tend to go for the plane since 5.5 hours is quite long but it depends on your preferred way of travel!
