Staying near Aguda train station. Internet says lots of trains all day to and from Porto- about 20 minutes plus or minus. Looking to use public transportation to visit without car. (Will have car for other portions of trip north of Lisbon). Am I right to assume these are more commuter type and you don’t need “reservations’?

This is indeed an urban train, where you cannot even get reservations.
