We are planning a trip to Sorrento and were wondering if there was a closer airport than Rome that we could fly into. We also need to know the best way to get to Sorrento after we fly in. Would it be best to take the rail or a taxi? Thanks so much for your help!! :)

We are flying into Naples on Lufthansa from Denver. (Denver, Munich, Naples) While we are renting a car, there is good train service from Naples to Sorrento.

If you fly into Naples and the timing is right, you can take a bus directly from the airport to Sorrento. For more frequent service, take a different bus to the Napoli Centrale train station and the private Circumvesuviana train from there to Sorrento. If you fly into Rome, take a Trenitalia train to Napoli Centrale and then the Circumvesuviana.
