Hello, I will be stopping in London for 1 day and would like to know what's a good location to stay in near LHR that a) is not too far by cab because I have 2 bags and b) has decent pubs and restaurants around since I will be celebrating a friends birthday. Also how much would a decent room run in that neighborhood? Thank you. ~R

We're staying at The Premier Inn near LHR for 55 GBP for the night. 'Hoppa' bus is about 5 pounds. M

Don't stay near the airport. Why??? Take the Heathrow Express train into Paddington station and stay there in the heart of London. Fast economical and you get to see part of London.

Booking one of the Heathrow hotels since my flight is very early the next morning. Didn't want to take chances, perhaps the next time when I'm there for longer :)
