Hello, I will be staying at my friend's place in St. Nazaire next month and hoping to do a day trip to MSM. So far, after some researching, I've figured out that I can take the train to Rennes and then take a Keolis bus ride to MSM.
Is this the easiest way to get to MSM using public transportation? Thanks.

According to the timetables on the German Rail site, the route you give looks like the easiest one. However, it's a long ride (four hours each way). The earliest you can arrive at MSM is 10:50. The latest you can leave is 17:25. Are you sure you want to spend eight hours in transit for a little over six hours at MSM?

I've heard/read about people who do day trips to MSM from Paris, which is ~3hours using public transportation, so I considered doing one from St. Nazaire. However, after much contemplation (I have a long journey the next day too), I decided to do a day trip to Vannes instead.

Good for you, smart decision. If you can squeeze it in, you might want to slip over to Carnac for a hour or two. There's a bus frm Vannes.
