I need to get from St Moritz to Monte Carlo on June 26th. I cannot find any train routes that match my traveling route. Can I not take a train and switch trains at different stations that will get me to Monaco?
There ain't no train tracks in St Moritz that I can remember. There's a station in Thusis (40 mi?) that you could probably get to by bus. Trying working the trains from there.
The Swiss rail site (rail.ch) will show you the connections, starting from St. Moritz with 4 or 5 changes, and part of the journey by bus. It takes about 10 hours.
There is rail out of St. Moritz, but it goes to the NW (Chur) or to the SE (Tirano). The only way out of St. Moritz to the south is by bus. Swiss Rail used to have a great map showing all the rail and bus lines in Switzerland, but they've changed their website and I can't find it anymore. Fortunately, I saved a copy when it was available.
The map is on the Swiss Travel System website. The easiest way to find it is just Google "Swiss synoptic map."
