St Lazare to Normandy - where is Corail train (SCNF) ?

I can't find the location of the Corail on any of the station maps. Is it inside St. Lazare? Do I have to leave the station to get to this train?

Corail is a type of train. Other types in France include TGVs and regional trains. You will catch your train at Gare St-Lazare.

I understand that - but where exactly in the station do I find that train? I read that I should walk to the SCNF station. Where is that? Is there a big booth/kiosk labeled CORAIL? Is it upstairs, downstairs...?

Okay, now I think I know the reason for your confusion. Gare St-Lazare is a mainline, ground-level SNCF station. There is also a Metro station named St-Lazare and a RER station named Haussmann St-Lazare. Both of them are below ground. For a zoomable pdf file with a map of the Metro and RER system for central Paris, go here: http://tinyurl.com/3cd9gm. The mainline train stations are also on the map.

At Gare St-Lazare look for the large electronic sign boards. They will give destination, type of train, track number, and departure time.

Yep - that helps a LOT! :-) We'll be coming from Gare Du Nord, by RER - at least that is the plan so far. I did not realize that there were 3 different stations there at St. Lazare. Thanks so much.

You're welcome. The RER E line runs from Magenta to Haussmann St-Lazare. Magenta is attached underground to the Gare du Nord RER and Metro stations.
