We received a speeding ticket from Germany on the autobahn a few months after our return home last year. The fine actually came from Hertz. We saw the flash as we were driving so we were not surprised to get the bill from Hertz. Just because it says "autobahn", does not mean free for all. There are places where the speed limit is posted.

We were told that when we see a speed limit sign, to hit the brakes... lifting your foot from the gas pedal and coasting down to the limit will be too late. This was related by a friend who received a ticket in Germany.

Denmark -police- speeding and traffic offences
Watch your step on the gas pedal follow the signs for km. pr hr.

you never know whose is behind you - in denmark the police in plain clothes and a private car, drive round and get folk for driving offences. Its a gpod idea to make sure yu have plenty of time when driving to your destination.

Thanks, Marilyn ...

... I wish people could learn that driving fast does not gain them advantage in minutes or hours. Ordinarily, only seconds are gained, if anything, but at the expense of themselves and others exposed to peril.
... What causes people to drive fast when it is not really required? ... Is it peer pressure? ... the guy in the car behind you? ... Is it reasonable to allow oneself to be pressured by someone like that? ...
I hope all who read this will arrive safely and without causing trauma to others... P

In France, they thoughtfully post warning signs before you pass a photo-radar. Viamichelin also puts them on their maps.
