Anyone have tickets on Spanair? I hope not because the airline has ceased operations.
Wow, that must suck for ticket holders,, it may have been a low cost ticket, so losing the actual cash is not the problem so much as not being able to take the trips now without a much higher priced ( because it may be last minute for many) ticket.
Iberia, Veuling and Air Europa are offering help to Spanair ticket holders who were supposed to fly in the next three days. (Get a magnifying glass as the print is really small in that section.) http://www.spanair.com/es_pos/en_GB/portal/Error/Page404
I've got Spanair tickets in April - just for a leg from Madrid to Barcelona. I think I bought the tickets from Kayak, the rest of the flight is Aer Lingus (but bought as a codeshare). I haven't received anything about it yet, now I know to look for it. Thanks.
We are two of the fools who purchased tickets on Spanair in January. I was going over our itinerary last week and found out then that my tickets from Granada to Barcelona in June are worthless. The Spanair website closed down the site they had available to lodge complaints on April 15. I booked flights on Vueling yesterday and chalked the loss of $159 as a lesson learned, maybe. I tend to book in advance to catch the discounts and I chose Spanair because it was the earliest flight out of Granada which suited our plans.
Kay, you didn't lose anything if you booked with a credit card...and I can't imagine you booked any other way. Surely you didn't use a debit card.
Frank II, Thankfully, NO. I'm booked with EasyJet this year. SpanAir is another victim of the ongoing global financial problems.
Ken, you need to step away from the computer. This was a three month old post that someone resurrected.
Frank II, I did glance at the year when I posted to make sure the OP was reasonably current, but didn't notice that it was a few months only. It's late and I've had a glass of Vino, so perhaps I'm not seeing too clearly.
