Hello All
We are planning a trip to Spain in September. We would like to visit Andalucia going from Madrid. Should we rent a car from Madrid to Granada, or should we take the train and then rent a car for the rest of our trip in Andalucia?
LT,
Frank's right--it depends. We rented a car in Madrid and drove to Granada because we wanted to make stops along the way. We dropped the car off in Sevilla and then took a bus to Portugal.
Here are a couple of things to keep in mind--Madrid is a difficult city to drive in--you might consider picking your car up outside of the city center. I'd look at taking the train to Toledo (or someone else might have a better suggestion) and then driving from there. Second, parking in Granada was a challenge...otherwise, having a car between Madrid and Granada was a good option for us.
Yes, No, it depends. we just did a Madrid, Cordoba,Seville,Granada, Malaga via train and bus and it worked great for what we wanted to do and see. A car is useless in all of those location. However, if you want to spend time in the country side or an out of the way place, then a vehicle is critical. What does you trip look like?
Thank you so much for the suggestions.
We are looking to go to the following places in Andalucia:Sevilla,Cordoba,Arcos,Nerja, Ronda and Granada. We will likely spend at least 1-2 nights in each place. So any suggestions as to how to connect these places or any other tips will be greatly appreciated :-)
