Has anyone taken the train from Bari to Monopoli then to Lecce? easy, safe?

There are regular regionale services. Bari to Lecce is about 1hr50mins. Buy your ticket at Bari Centrale station. Around 10Euro.
If you want to see what time trains go visit www.trenitalia.com and search for trains on this route. Just use the same day of the week you intend to travel on but put in a date within the next 7 days.

Easy and safe. Train to each destination is a little more than an hour, under 10 euro. Trains leave almost hourly.
