What is the best way to get from Southampton, England to Holiday Inn, London, Gatwick Airport?
Train to Gatwick airport. See http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/ I presume the Holiday Inn has an airport shuttle? Otherwise take a taxi.
Thank you for the information. It will very helpful.
Also National Express coaches will drop you at the airport with easy links to the hotels in the area.
The coach is likely to be a lot less expensive than the train. If you're travelling at the weekend, it's worth checking about engineering work on railway lines. If there is any, you'll end up on a bus anyway!
@Maggie - I checked the National Express site and did not find a Southampton-Gatwick coach.
I just checked. It's there. Southampton Coach station to Gatwick North Terminal.
About £24 one way (less if you're over 60). Cheers Maggie
@Maggie - ah, I checked Southampton Cruise Ferry Terminal, since that seemed the most likely starting point. BTW, there's a direct train on a random July date for 10 GBP.
Kathy, If you can get any UK train journey for £10, I say grab it!! Nelson, there's a free shuttle bus service in Southampton, does a round trip from the railway station to the city center and down to the quay, it runs frequently.
Best wishes, Maggie
