Southampton cruise port to London

I was planning to take the train from Southampton to London on Sunday, September 14 but there is maintenance work taking place that day so we would have to bus to Eastleigh station. Wondering if it would just be easier to take a taxi from the port to Eastleigh and take the train from there. There are 4 of us travelling together.

There is a coach (bus) that goes from Southampton Coach Station to London's Victoria Coach Station. I would recommend that. The coach driver can put your larger bags in a hold under the coach for the trip. Just remember to retrieve them once you get to London. Carry on bags go onboard with you.

You can just walk up and buy a ticket at Southampton Coach Station for the next coach to London or go online to the National Express website and book ahead of time. Personally, I'd just walk up and buy the ticket on the day.

If your hotel happens to be in the Victoria Station area, you will be able to walk the short distance to it. There is a tube station at Victoria Train Station for getting to other areas of London. Or you can hail a taxi right outside the Victoria Coach Station.
Victoria Coach Station is across the street (and south one block) from Victoria Train Station.

If you are ending a cruise, check with them-they normally have buses leased that go to several destinations.

I took a taxi to the coach station in Southampton (plenty of taxis available at cruise terminal) and National Express Bus to London. You arrive at Victoria coach station.

Inexpensive and efficient. Buy your ticket in advance as the buses can fill up on disembarkation day.
