south of France private driver

Hi
I am looking to hire a driver for a day from Cannes, France to several cities. Prefer that for our group of 6 rather than drinking and driving a rental. Hoping to explore Eze, Grasse, Menton and St Tropez in one day... Should we hire a private driver (if so, how? I googled it and hard to find) or should we take cabs from place to place? (I bet those are hard to find?)
Thanks,
Meg

I think you will need to prebook a driver with a large enough vehicle to hold six comfortably for the day.
Perhaps your hotel concierge in Cannes can help you with this.
Or, are you on a cruise ship stop? If so, Google the cruise port and transportation.

hey hey meghna88
i would hire a private driver, with 6 people splitting costs, it's so much better to see and do what you want, stop anywhere you plan stops. plus comfortable seating in probably a van with only your group. email company, give them the plan or similar what you want, half or full day and let them tell you the options they suggest and cost then you decide within your group.
we did private "taxi" tours outside paris, amsterdam and outlying villages, florence and the tuscany area, venice with a prosecco tour up in the hills, vineyards, many tastings of local bottles from their "farms" plus we stopped for lunch at a small family italian restaurant. much prefer to have a local guide/driver to inform me of the area, sites and history.

you can always stop by a tourist kiosk at a plaza and see what they have available. good luck have fun

Thanks, not on a cruise ship stop, but going during the end of Grand Prix/Cannes film festival so worried that if we don't prebook, we may not find anything.

@princess Pupule, sounds perfect, what is the best way to book something like that? Also sounds like such a great idea, I will try it for Italy also!

We used Ingrid from Best French Riviera Tours for two daylong driving tours last fall. She helped us design our plans, picked us up in the morning, drove us around all day and was a great tour guide! You would have a fantastic time with her.

I tried to link you to her website but the link doesn’t seem to work right now - not sure what that means. We did tour with her just 6 months ago so…

Meg, Book everything way ahead! Is this for this year or next? We were in Nice during the Monaco Gran Prix and Cannes Film Festival and everything was mobbed, grid locked!

i totally agree to book ASAP, probably best thing to do with all of the gang and nit get lost in the crowds.
friend and i were in paris end sept/begin oct 2019, fashionista week, photographers everywhere, techno music parade, former president cheraq (sp) died, french people standing in long lines to pay respect, "big wig" world dignitaries, politicians, cops, guns, rifles, sirens all day long, some protestors and of course tourists!! packed in like a can of sardines. sat outside at cafe with baguette, ham and bottle of wine enjoying the craziness and people. enjoy no stressing
