SNCF website

I am trying to book the PREM discounted tickets from Paris CDG to Avignon TGV. When i go through the website, it is all in french and when i click on the bottom left flag of UK, it takes me to english website and there it asks me the country. According to bunch of posts, i should leave the country as France, but then when i hit search, it takes me to the webpage in french again and asks me to search again. I am confused.

Here's how to get to the booking page in English--and keep it in English. On the voyages-sncf.com home page click on the "Train" tab (between "Accueil" and "Hotel") at the top of the page. On the new page click anywhere in the long URL in the browser field at the very top of the screen. Find LANG=FR in that URL and change it to LANG=UK. Hit the Enter key. You'll get a booking page in English. Leave France as the default country for retrieving your ticket. If the PREM'S are gone for your date, you can book a standard fare ticket and choose to pick it up at a station or SNCF boutique in France. If you succeed in booking a PREM'S fare, print the ticket yourself.

Thanks! That worked. I have a few more questions

1) I see PREM tickets from Avignon to paris for 40 euros. Can this price change by the day/hour or PREM prices itself are always fixed, based on time/destination? I see same PREM price for 1st class and 2nd class.
2) When i try to look for tickets from CDG terminal to Avignon, it just brings the same page back with following at the top "We have several proposals for the departure and/or arrival town that you have entered. You can view these proposals using the link Help. Thank you. " What does this mean?
3) We have a 2 year old travelling with us. I read somewhere that it is free but we still need the ticket. How do we get the ticket for him?

Thanks a ton! This sure helps.

1) PREMs prices are fixed, but they are very limited in allocation, and once they're gone, they're gone. It's not really time/distance...more like how popular/busy. But essentially, if you don't purchase them early, they'll usually disappear quickly. 2) The message means there are two or more stations at your origin and/or destination, so it wants you to select which station you're wanting to be at. Click on the little magnifying glass next to each window (make sure you don't have a pop-up blocker on...or hold down the CTRL key when you click) and a new windown will pop open with the possibilities. Select the one(s) you want, and proceed.

Well, it doesn't have any icon near departure station. I picked the exact location "AEROPORT CDG 2 TGV". There is something else. I don't know what

Also, anybody knows about the ticket for kid under 2 years of age.

PREM'S fares are based on the number of allotted discount fare seats that are still available for a particular train (route and time). So the price goes up as more seats are sold until the only tickets left are standard fare ones.

On the English version you have to type "Airport" rather than "Aeroport." Like this: Airport CDG 2 TGV. Then you won't get the "several choices" message.

I believe that you don't need a ticket of any kind for a child under two so long as you don't require a separate seat for the child and will be holding the child in your lap. But I don't know for sure.

Did you check for PREM'S fares for Paris-Avignon? If the price is right, you might come out ahead by departing from Gare de Lyon even when you add in the cost of getting there from CDG.

Do try to look for tickets from Paris, and not CDG, it can make a big difference. With something like the PREM tickets, if you know you will be traveling that day, and you're ready, buy them, they can be gone the next time you search. I got tickets from paris->avignon for eur17 each, now they're over 50 each.

If there are no PREM tickets showing up right now, can they appear tomorrow. Or mostly, once gone, they are gone?
