I saw on Rick's website that students, seniors, and families can purchase a SNCF's discount card for €49 to get additional 30 percent discounts on many train tickets. There is very little information about it on their website. Does anyone have experience with this discount card or know more? I was wondering if you could use it for tickets that are purchased on-line.

On the SNCF Connect website you will be asked first for your destination, then for your origin (yes, backwards by most standards). On the next screen you will specify your travel date and time and the characteristics of the people traveling. the default is one, non-senior adult. If you click on that box, you will be able to specify a discount card, etc., for your first traveler. Just click on "Discount cards and season tickets" and choose from the list displayed.
