Sleeper train from Naples to Venice

Help! We are heading to Italy at the end of April and for the first time we are relying on trains instead of driving-I'm actually more intimidated by trains than cars!
My questions is this: Can we get a train from Sorrento/Naples to Venice with a berth? I'm hoping to make that long trip an overnight. Thanks a million in advance.

You will have to go via Naples and connect with the direct night train there. ICN 774 leavs Napoli Centrale at 19:57 and arrives at Venezia Santa Lucia at 05:26.

Circumvesuviana is a private commuter train line that runs between Naples and Sorrento. The last Circumvesuviana train you could take to make that connection leaves Sorrento at 18:22 and arrives at Napoli Garibaldi (the station in the lower level of Napoli Centrale) at 19:25. If you want more connection time so you can either eat dinner in Naples or buy the fixing for a picnic dinner to take on the train, leave Sorrento at 17:56 and arrive at Napoli Garibaldi at 18:45. See the timetables here.

Night trains can sell out weeks in advance so it's important to book early. The Trenitalia (Italian national rail) site does not accept US credit cards for online booking and the Rail Europe site doesn't list the night train. You can, however, book the night train on the Italia Rail site which is a North American site dedicated to travel by train in Italy.

Buy point-to-point tickets when you get to Italy for all daytme Trenitalia trains. Station tickets machines do accept US credit cards and they have an English option.
