Six hour lay-over at Charles De Gaul. Worth going to Paris for an afternoon

I am flying to Barcelona at the end of this month, and have a six hour lay-over in Paris. I land at the Charles De Gaul Airport. I was thinking of taking the subway from there into Paris, maybe to just see Notre Dame. Then I would hop back on the subway to the airport and check in for my flight. If I manage it, I might only have a carry on bag, so no baggage check ins. Is one or two hours in Paris worth it? Or, will security take too long? What if I do miss my connection to Barcelona?

Paris can be tricky. I remember on one of my visit, security took 1.5 hours. The next time, it was 1/2 hour.

6 hours is a long time but still risky... you may encounter delays. Some airlines may also cancel you if you're a no show half hour before departure.

I say I would not risk it not enough time....and remember it is a long way from CDG into the city and back again I don't think it is enough time.
