Siena to Nice

Brendan, it's 3 or 4 changes and 8 or 9 hours by train. You can see the details by using the journey planner on www.bahn.com Flying isn't really my thing, but it looks like Siena airport only handles private traffic, so you would probably have to get to Pisa (2 hours to Pisa Centrale on 2 Trenitalia Regionale trains, change at Empoli), plus additional time to the airport, and then Pisa to Nice looks really expensive. See for yourself on www.skyscanner.net or www.kayak.com/flights . Only Norwegian has anything like an affordable fare. I'd guess this route mostly gets business travellers, which is reflected in the prices. Fares from Florence Peretola are about the same.
