Is there a link for bus schedules? What is the earliest bus out of Siena? We are trying to get to Florence early on a Thursday in June.
Also, there are several trains that take anywhere from 1h00m-1h45m and don't require a transfer. They cost 7,70€. 1 at 5:45, 3 in the 6 o'clock hour, 1 at 7:00, 2 in the 8 o'clock hour, 1 in both the 9 and 10 o'clock hour...These results are for next week; they may - or may not - add or change departues for the busier month of June. Buy your tickets upon arrival at the train station. It's a nice train, and a nice ride. Yes, you'd probably need a taxi to get to the train station in Siena. Just giving you another option...
I am an American living in Siena. It's a good idea to go by bus rather than train. They are comfortable, direct, and it's what the Italians use. I have not been on the Siena-Florence one but the one from Rome to Siena was lively, with people talking across seats and even engaging me in the conversation (asking about my phone service). Once they realized that I was American, one woman was very sweet and motherly, making sure that I got off the right Siena stop (there are three). Beth Young

" They are comfortable, direct, and it's what the Italians use." FWIW, the very same thing could be said about the train. It carries locals that work in Florence...or locals flying into/out of Florence, etc. And there are many more to choose from, so you aren't tied down to the bus schedule. There isn't a bus or two every hour... In the past, we've had both the bus and train skeds with us; whenever we were ready to leave, we'd choose the mode most convenient. So far, it's always been the train. But, we'll continue to have both skeds with us so that we know our options...
Sounds like a good idea to have both bus and train schedules so you can pick the most convenient.
Where can you pick up the bus and train schedules?
