I will be taking an early flight from Paris Orly and was hoping for suggestions on reliable shuttle service to Orly from the Rue Cler area. The flight is at 7am, so I need a very early scheduled pick-up at my hotel. It appears this is earlier than the Metro's hours of operation. Is there a particular shuttle service recommended by anyone? I would like to book it in advance, to lessen my stress level, which is already high due to the early flight. Thanks for your help. It is always greatly appreciated.
Rose, I was referring to private shuttle services, not Les Cars Air France.
Tim, ah, gotcha. Thanks for clarifying. I took your comment to be a response to my suggestion re: AF Les Cars. :)
The Air France Les Cars Line 1 bus goes from 1 avenue Carnot near the Charles de Gaulle-Étoile Metro stop to Orly. The first bus is at 05:00. Map and schedule at: http://www.lescarsairfrance.com/en.html You do not need to be an Air France passenger to use the service.
People often report having problems with Paris airport shuttle companies. Not showing up is cited. I suggest that you have your hotel book a taxi for you the night before departure.
If you catch a five o'clock bus you will no catch a seven o'clock flight. Do what Tim said.
Tim, the AF Les Cars shuttle is utterly dependable. I was in a hurry writing my earlier comment and didn't notice that the OP had specified her flight was at 07:00. Your suggestion to book a taxi is the best alternative under the circumstances. It always surprises me that more public transportation accommodation isn't made available in some big cities for travelers who have very early flights. The airports always seem to have plenty going on in the early morning; one would think there's a broader need. Although it's not the most desirable thing to do, this very situation is why I opt to move to an airport hotel late the night before a very early morning flight. I just don't like to end a wonderful European stay with that kind of early morning stress. My preference, of course, though I know others disagree.
