We flew home from Europe yesterday on Delta. We normally carry on our bags, but decided to check on the way home (due to purchase of some wine). Anyway my bag didn’t make our last flight (from Seattle to Portland), in about 2 minutes Delta figured out it got stuck after going through customs. We live a couple hours a way in Eugene. By this morning, my bag had been “rebooked” to Eugene, and by noon delivered to our house. I was happy with the way they solved the issue and communicated clearly what was going to happen. Another reason I like to fly Delta when possible.
Nice to hear a positive airline experience for a change :-)
We came back from LHR to Detroit last week on Delta and we were informed via email that our checked luggage had been delayed. As a bonus Delta put 10,000 points into our account for the trouble. We arrived in Detroit and passed through immigration in 5 mins (thanks to Global entry) then onto the baggage claim area. 5 mins later our baggage showed up. I have had luggage delayed through other airlines and none have ever given me points for the trouble they have caused. My outbound itinerary was also changed going into London. I ended up going from St. Louis via Salt Lake City, but for my trouble, I was given comfort + upgrade (just for the STL to SLC route) but still, another reason to like Delta.

I like Delta. Prior to COVID-19, I was an enormous fan who said they had never let me down. There were a few hiccups on refunds during COVID-19 times, so they let me down then (and I ended up filing a DOT complaint when one ticket due for refund hit the 4 month mark without being refunded to me). Since then, though, all has gone well. I've done 4 transatlantic trips since August 2021. All on Delta. All went smoothly.
