Should we have purchased train tickets?

We are leaving for Europe a week from today. We will be traveling from Arles to Collioure to Barcelona, all by train. Should we have purchased train tickets beforehand or will we be able to do it as we go? Our travel dates are not flexible due to hotel revervations in each city. I'm hoping for some good news here.

Thank you

Just make sure you're in Collioure by 2 pm. There are only two trains a day from there making the connection to Barcelona...the second at 5:49 pm. With a minimum layover, the journey will take you between 8 and 11 hours, a long day.

You should be fine, so long as you do not travel during rush hours or on weekends or holidays, when yrains will have bigger crowds. Buying tix should not be a problem as there are lots of machines to get em from as well as agents and the normal tix windows. If you cant get your preferred train, another will likely be along before too long. Remember to validate your tix in those trackside machines (watch others)

You'll have no problems. Just buy your tickets at the train stations when you're ready to go. There are many trains each day that go along your route.

Jeff, I'd suggest buying your tickets at the station a couple of days before you'll be travelling, especially if there are any local holidays happening at about that time (ask your Hotel staff about that). Your P-P ticket will include the reservation fee, if it's applicable on the particular train you'll be using.

Happy travels!
