Should I check passport control twice in Frankfurt and Madrid?

Because Im going to Europe for first time, my flight is from Mexico City (yes my passport is mexican) to Chicago which I have to pass throught immigration in the US and picking my luggage up and recheck again.

I dont know if I should go to Passport Control and Customs then picking my luggage up and recheck again or just leave my luggage till final destination and walking to the gate and arriving to Madrid, should i recheck at Passport Control and Customs again in Madrid?

Im flying from Chicago to Madrid via Frankfurt and my flights are from United Airlines and Lufthansa which are members of Star Alliance. Can I have same ticket from Chicago to Madrid connecting Frankfurt without picking my luggage up till final destination Madrid then I can pass thru customs right? Or should I pick my luggage up and pass thru custom and recheck to get another ticket in Frankfurt?

About immigration, I got one international terminal in Frankfurt (Terminal 1 Frankfurt) and in Madrid "Barajas" other international (Terminal 1 Barajas) and how I can pass withouth checking my passport in Madrid which is an international terminal?, because if my passport is already checked by German official once I enter in Schengen (Frankfurt)

Does anybody have been in Madrid Barajas Terminal 1? I would like to know please asap because Im going to there for spring break.

Thank you for your time!

In Chicago, at least, you will have to claim your luggage and recheck it. You will probably be ticketed through to your final destination, but you will have to pick up your luggage and recheck, and go through passport control every time you change countries. You won't have to check in for each flight, they will have a special area to recheck your luggage.

See my reply on your duplicate posting but...you won't have to go through Customs and Immigration in every country. Maybe in the U.S. depending on what airline you're flying, definitely in Frankfurt as it is you entering Schengen country, and not in Madrid since you have already been cleared into Schengen.

Just because it's an "international" terminal doesn't mean all flights are international.
