I'm flying to Berlin in September and have a 4.5 hr layover at Charles de Gaulle aiport.....Is that enough time to zip into Paris for a quick visit? If so, what's the best transport? taxi? shuttle? train?

No. It'll take at least 30 minutes to get into the city after you are through with getting off your flight, going through customs, etc. Don't even try it.

You have enough time to get there and back. Maybe. Unfortunately, you should probably hang at the airport.
