Shannon Customs and Security Clearance Time

What's been the experience of those who have transited through Shannon in the past couple of months?

Has the airport been fully-staffed or nearly so with baggage handlers, ticket and TSA agents and the airlines with pilots and crew? What's been the general amount of time to clear customs and the TSA security check when entering from and departing for the U.S.?

My United flights are in late July and late August. On international flights, I make it a point to arrive three hours prior to the scheduled departure. Should this still suffice at Shannon this summer?

I flew in to but not out of Shannon airport on Aer Lingus in late April. I don't know what time I landed but it was scheduled for 5:40 am. I was among the last off the plane, had cleared passport control, collected 4 people's worth of checked bags, and got the keys for the rental car by 6:17am (that's the time the signed contract was emailed to me). The only thing not up and running I recall was the closest ATM when you exited after getting your bags (but there was another very close).

Excellent! That's just about the time it took me to clear customs and collect by bicycle on many previous trips to Ireland. Quick and efficient. Let's hope it continues throughout the summer.
