September 20 public transportation strike in Italy

I have been informed that there is a "public transportation" strike for 24 hours September 20. We have Italo tickets from Rome to Florence. Does anyone know what exactly is meant by public transportation? I understand that it means all the railways(Trenitalia and Italo). What about buses? That would seem to be our best alternate method and I'd like to book now.

Or, as I've read on older posts about Italy train strikes, are there some exceptions(like early morning trains to allow people to get to work)? How do I know?

I have the exact same concerns! Booked on Italo from Rome to Florence as well - had hoped there would be less risk of strike on Italo. Looking into backup alternate transportation as well.

I've asked my Airbnb host in Panzano and another day guide that I've been conversing with and both said not to worry, I wouldn't likely be affected, but if I do - it would be part of my Italian adventure. I understand just trying to go with the flow - but if I can't make this train my other travel plans/reservations will be significantly impacted ($$$) so I can't help but stress.

Would love any insight from other travelers!

It looks like Italy's September 20 public transport strike will only affect buses, trams and local metro trains--- not the trains of Trenitalia or Italotreno Italo's website currently does not list the September 20 strike as affecting its trains. Trenitalia's website also does not mention its high-speed trains being impacted by the September 20 strike.

I was looking to use the Circumvesuviana train from Sorrento (more specifically, Vico Equense) to Pompeii on September 20th... will that be affected? And if so, what other options would I have? Thanks!

Here’s a link from ACTV for 24 hr strike impacts in Venice. Looks like Aliaiguna from airport is running normal. We had considered doing bus and then Vaperetto, but there’s also a water taxi.
