We are travelling through Germany and France in September/October this year by rail. Is Seniors Discount available in these countries for point to point tickets?

I think the closest thing you get to a senior discount with German Rail is that a Bahn Card 50, which gives you half off on tickets is about half price (€118 vs €230) if you are a senior.
Note: warning. The Bahn Card is an Abonnement (subscription). If you don't file the correct paperwork, it renews itself every year, and you are automatically billed for the next year.
