senior discount for trains

I am over 70. I will be in France for one week. When I book train tickets for France do I need to purchase a senior discount card or just click on senior? I will be booking individual point to point tickets.
Thank you

To get a senior discount, you need the 49€ Carte Avantage Senior. If you travel more than 6-8 hours total on long distance trains, it is likely to be worth it, but compare prices with and without a card.

It's going to depend on your itinerary. The card is good on only high-speed and Intercity trains. No regional trains.

rocky,

I'm in the same age range but don't usually bother with senior discounts for rail travel. For the few trips I make on a European holiday, I can't be bothered trying to figure out the different discount cards.
