Hello.
I have a question regarding the pass youth. I have been reading the book "Europe through the back door" and I am at the part that describes the train passes in Europe. I am now 26 years old and I will be 27 in June when I go to Europe. I am aware of the youth pass and the person has to be 26 in order to by this pass. Can I buy now that I am 26 and travel when I will be 27 or I just don't get the advantage of buying the youth pass anymore. I will turn 27 in the beginning of May and I will be in Europe in the following month.... thank you Bruna
According to the Eurail website, www.eurail.com, the youth pass is for "For travelers who are younger than 26 (counted on their 1st day of travel). It's not that you have to be 26 to buy the pass, you can't be over 25 on your first day of travel on the pass. You're more than a year late.
Good for you for reading "Europe Throught the Back Door"; it will give you a good foundation for your European trip! You may OR may not want to buy a railpass. Depending on where and when you want to travel by train, you may find it is much cheaper to purchase point-to-point tickets. You just have to price out your train trips and see if it's a better deal or not. Some trains and some routes require reservations on top of your railpass, and some of those are actually more expensive than buying a regular ticket!
Thank you for your message. Do you know how is the train system and price to travel in Spain only?
Never been to Spain (never will) but their national rail website is www.renfe.es
