Select Pass for neighboring countries but what about within the region?

We know we need to buy 3 countries 5 days select pass for our group of 9. Overnight train from Paris to Barcelona, Venice to Florence, Florence to Rome. Does the select pass cover the fare for traveling within the region like when we are in Florence, we will go to Pisa, Sienna and Cinque Terre?

Thanks

Are you flying from Barcelona to Venice? If so, skip the railpass. It will not be cost effective for your routes.

Book point-to-point tickets for the Paris-Barcelona night night train well in advance (up to three months allowed) at tgv-europe.com to get discount fares. Follow Steve's instructions to keep the site in English and to avoid being bumped to the Rail Europe site which doesn't offer discount fares. Buy p2p tickets as you go in Italy. Or buy all of them when you arrive in Venice.

Yes, your select pass covers Pisa, Siena and Cinque Terre. But it will take 1 day off your pass for each day you use it. With your itinerary, you'll only be using 3 days from your pass. So, you can use 1 day to go to Cinque Terre and the other day for both Pisa and Siena.

Thank you for all of your responses. I will try to do a price comparison between p2p and select pass. Any little savings help!
