I am trying to buy a ticket from Vienna to Munich through Salzburg on Sept 11. I would not have to change trains in Salzburg. I would really like to make a seat reservation, but the oebb.at. site says reservations are not available on this train. Bahn.de says they are temporarily not available. Does anyone know if there is any other way to make the reservation? I could buy two separate tickets and get reservations on both, but it is more expensive.

I assume you are referring to a RailJet, since I can see reservations for your date on the ICE connection via Plattling. Maybe it's a RailJet thing. RailJet is an Austrian train.
You might just be trying to reserve too far in advance. I see RJ reservations possible on the Bahn through the end of August.

thank you for your help. You were right, it is still too early to get a reservation. It looks like 9/4 is the first day available for that train, an RJ, so I will check again a week or so.
