Does anyone have any reccomendations about looking for flights that originate in Europe? For example a short flight from Ireland to France or England to France.
While this would be a leg on a trip I want to search varios legs independently.

Try skyscanner.net it searches a variety of european based airlines.
Try www.ryanair.com or www.easyjet.com
I might also use wikipedia and search for specific airports. Wikipedia tends to have a list by carrier in most airport listings of what cities can be reached on each carrier.
For example, this is the entry for Cork: * Aer Arann (Belfast-City, Bristol, Cardiff, Dublin, Edinburgh, Galway, Jersey, Leeds-Bradford, Lorient, Nantes, Southampton)
* Aer Lingus (Alicante, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin-Schönefeld, Birmingham, Faro, London-Heathrow, Madrid, Malaga, Manchester [starts Winter 2007],Munich [starts 29 October 2007] Nice, Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Prague, Rome-Fiumicino, Warsaw)
* Air Southwest (Newquay)
* bmi
o bmibaby (Birmingham, Manchester)
* Centralwings (Krakow, Warsaw, Wroclaw)
* Jet2.com (Newcastle)
* Malév Hungarian Airlines (Budapest)
* Ryanair (Dublin, Liverpool, London-Gatwick, London-Stansted)
* SkyEurope (Bratislava, Vienna)
* Wizz Air (Gda?sk, Katowice)
Another option is www.whichbudget.com
We just got tickets from London to Oslo for 27.99 GBP with Ryanair!
