SEA-TAC - where is Checkin counter for Lufthansa?

Hello SEA-Locals
Im attending the RS Greece Tour late summer and taking Lufthansa from SeaTac - SEA-FRA-ATHENS.
Could I ask a local to tell me where the Main Lufthansa Check in counter is please? I cant find it on the Map specifically from the Sea-Tac website. Just trying to gauge where in the main terminal it would be?

I will be flying in from California on Alaska (separate ticket - with carryon only) and looks like Alaska arrives North or C terminal domestic.
I assume I need to make it over to official check-in counter for boarding passes before heading to International South Gates where Luft is located? (and do security checks etc). I hope 4 hrs is ok for Layover! (and hopfully a stop at the Beechers for a grill-cheese on C-concourse!)

thanks so much.

My recollection is the Lufthansa check-in counter is the farthest on the left as you face all counters. Why not print your boarding passes before arriving at SeaTac? My experience in predicting arrival terminals for flights on Alaska Airlines is iffy. Be nimble, be flexible.

Just FYI, Alaska flights land at lots of gates - sometimes they change from day to day. I can tell you that I usually land at N gates these days. They seldom seem to land at C gates unless it's a Spokane or Portland flight somehow. I'm happiest when I get to use the D gates as they're so close in - but it seems like more and more of the flights are coming and going from the N gates.

And I'm with Bruce - why not print your boarding pass before you leave California? The Lufthansa site indicates that you can. Then I would think you could just stay airside from wherever you land to the S gates.

The ticketing area shown on this map, outside of security, is relatively small, not longer than a city block (and not at all like Paris CDG, for instance). But if you're not allowed to print the boarding card at home I think you could still stay behind security and get it printed at the departure gate.

The Main terminal has the check-in desks for all airlines. Lufthansa is at the south end. https://www.portseattle.org/Sea-Tac/Maps-and-Directions/Pages/Main-Terminal.aspx ( Ticket area 1, adjacent security point 1 on the map)

The South Terminal is accessed by underground tram. You have to go through security to get to the tram.

If you need to get your boarding pass at SEA, you will leave the secured zone and have to go through security screening.

If you can get a boarding pass before coming to SEA you can get to the South Terminal, without leaving the secured area.

The only Intl destination I have gone to from SEA is Canada, and all I had to do was have my passport and boarding pass available, for gate agent to see as part of the boarding process.

If your flight is anywhere close to on time, 4 hours is plenty to make the transfer. 30 minutes is an unusually long security line in my experience. When I am standing in line, 15 minutes just seems like "forever"

Hi Everyone - wow thanks all for such a quick reply. Thanks much!
Good Idea to try and print the boarding pass. I have Biz class and TSA pre so Id hope that helps with any lines in and out of sec-zones.

My previous experience with Swiss/Luft out of LAX and in EU/CH has been they still want you to check in at counter for boarding pass - even though I had confirmed via Iphone App (Swiss the year before - not Luft yet) - at least for international to/from USA. Within EU may be diff. (and even without checking bags).

I was hoping I could stay in terminal but may be best to run out to front counter so thanks for the info on the aprox main-counter location.

My previous flights to/from SEA from Orange County were in C-terminal but that was over a year ago.

thanks again

My home airport is SeaTac. I've arrived/departed from several of the terminal branches for Alaska Airlines. There's really not a lot of walking from any location unless you come in at Terminal A.

I've never checked in at the check-in counter for domestic or international flights for several years (Delta, Alaska, Air France) - carry-on, only, too. The gate attendant will want to check your passport; otherwise, treat it as a normal flight connection.

Pre-printing a Lufthansa boarding pass wouldn't hurt but if you are flying from Alaska to SEA and not needing to check baggage (carry-on only) you should be able to stay within the secure/sterile area of SEA. Arriving at the C terminal you would need to walk to the tram station for the remote International terminal. Take the underground to the International terminal and you should be able to check-in to Lufthansa at the gate. Lufthansa will likely need to print out their own boarding pass after they verify your passport information.

PS Lufthansa's carry-on weight limit is 8 kg (about 17.6 lbs) in addition to size restrictions.
