SEA-LHR-DUB do we go through security again?

We are flying to Dublin on BA with a 5 hour layover in LHR.

Once we deplane at LHR I understand we go through passport control is that correct?

We will be carrying on our luggage so are we able to stay in the security zone and just go to the waiting area for our next flight or do we have to go through security again?

When we went through LHR, connecting on BA flights, we went through a security screening. ( Still have never figured out where we left a secured zone to need security screening again)

Happened both ways (SEA-LHR-MXP)

My mind is blank about passport control, and my passport from 2010 is....... hmmm ??

Assuming BA gets their computer plugged in, 5 hours is sufficient time to transfer

Same experience last year. Went through passport control, then another security screening at LHR. I didn't have 5 hours. Almost missed by Dublin connection.

When you deplane, you follow the purple signs for "flight connections". You'll come in at Terminal 5 and transfer to Terminal 2. There will be a bus that takes you between the two terminals. According to the Heathrow website, they assume a 90 minute transfer time. You will go through a security screening and passport control. We did this last summer (and we had the dreaded two separate bookings so we couldn't use the "flight connections" options) -and did fine. Each experience is unique.
