In July 2010 we would like to fly from the US to either Edinburgh or Glasgow to visit friends that live in Kirriemuir,Scotland. We then want to fly to either Munich or Budapest to pick up our Danube River Cruise. Depending on the date, the cruise either starts in Passau or Budapest and travels in the opposite direction. Are there regional airlines that fly between Edinburgh or Glasgow to Munich or Budapest?

I know of one discount airline that flys from Edinburgh to Munich: Easy Jet. The price varies depending on the date of your flight. Look up their website, www.easyjet.com.
If you pick up your cruise at Passau, you're definitely in for an enjoyable experience. Happy Travels.

you can check airlines and fares with www.swoodoo.com, airberlin.com, germanwings.com - but also lufthansa and BA occassionally offer great prices. A flight from EDI to MUC would not be considered as regional anymore as it takes about 2 hours...
