I am planning a trip into Scotland in 2017 and will want to fly out of Glasgow or Edinburgh back to USA. Is one airport preferred over the other?

I found the Edinburg Airport to be pleasant enough. Car rental counter was nice too.

I found the Edinburgh airport to be nice. And they were handing out free scotch to drink as soon as you cleared security. At 05:30 in the morning! ;-)

I have only used GLA but it worked extremely well. I don't think the airline that you choose will give you a choice in the matter, though.

It does not take long to travel between either Airport, personally I prefer Edinburgh airport to Glasgow,not just because I live in Edinburgh I just think it is a nicer place .Both are pretty good and easy for flying to or from.
