The title should be pretty self-explanatory.
Is the schoenes-wochenende-ticket good for both Saturday and Sunday or just one of them? If it's only good for one day, does it offer any benefits above the laender-ticket other than the ability to use it in more than one German 'state'?
I'm trying to compare my options and don't know a whole lot about the schoenes-wochenende-ticket...

The Schönes-Wochenende-Ticket is valid of Saturday OR Sunday, not for both. It is indentical to the Länder-Lickets except it is valid for use in all the states. Because it is for the weekend, like the Länder-Tickets are on the weekend, it is valid from midnight on.
If you are crossing state borders, you can save a lot with the S-W-T, but if your travel is entirely within a single state, use that state's Länder-Ticket.
Thanks - I suspected the differences were basically what you said but I wasn't able to confirm that anyplace.
In a few Verkehrverbünde, ex. Nürnberg, if you purchase a day ticket on Sat., it is valid through Sunday, but that is not common.
