This might go under trip report but it is entirely related to transportation. The Ibis hotel at Schiphol can be reached on a free shuttle bus that leaves from in front of the terminal. The Ibis hotel DOES NOT have an ATM so if you have used up your foreign currency when you check in you can have the desk exchange dollars for you or get back on the bus and go to the terminal where ATMs are. Luckily we had enough usd to exchange at a poor rate to pay for our supper and a few brewskis. The hotel desk exchange rate is, well let's see, Exorbitant. It always helps to carry a little cash with you. We had 200 dollars and exchanged 120. I don't remember what we got in euros but it was enough to take care of the weary bones.
