SAS Airline makes life interesting--- Bankruptcy filing

https://www.reuters.com/business/aerospace-defense/sas-applies-chapter-11-united-states-2022-07-05/

Strike to ground roughly half of airline's flights
SAS says will affect about 30,000 passengers per day

A lot of folks holding SAS tickets are likely reaching for their Tums with one hand and phone/computer with the other

Wishing all the best

EDIT-- Here is the SAS site with info for those holding tickets

Woah. I'm glad my SAS leg was part of my already-completed inbound trip, but I need to get a ticket from either Stockholm or Helsinki to the UK in late August as a Schengen-avoidance maneuver. I guess that might be harder and costlier than expected.

Fixed title-- had no idea there was an 'SAS' shoe brand..... after seeing the prices I see why ... not in my realm of footwear.

Joe, SAS shoes are pricey but very well made and great for people who have hard-to-fit feet.

Yup, been in the UK since my last US trip 24 years ago and my SAS shoes are still going strong. They are so good they even include (well used to don't know now) extra laces in the box.

Is the bankruptcy part of SAS-the-airline's strategy do deal with their pilots' strike?

Yes, SAS-the-shoes, are the most comfortable I've ever owned. Not exactly stylish, but I see my feet so seldom these days.😕

yes the BK is an attempt to restructure the financial side of the airline. Complicated by the airline being owned by Sweden, Norway & Denmark. Looks like some restructuring (give backs) of leases. IIRC Norway & Denmark have agreed to inject capital. Sweden has declined that scenario. There is something about restructuring into 3 business units. I don't know what that means. 1 for each country? Cargo operations, passengers & planes?

I am looking at booking a different airline for our (already booked SAS flight) trip to Paris. I don't want to be the last passenger on the Titanic.
