San Francisco Airport - New terrace/observation deck

Hi all,

I saw on the local news last week that there’s a new outdoor terrace and observation deck at SFO. It’s on the G gates side of the international terminal which serves United (and star alliance?). It may also be accessed via T3 by a connecting hallway.

It may be a nice way to get some fresh air or a little sunshine prior to sitting in a plane for a long flight. Hopefully the prevailing winds keep jet exhaust from pooling there. Probably a good spot to check out the aircraft for aviation geeks like me.

SFO is also building one at T2 that’s expected to open in the fall.

Nice! Sadly, I only fly domestic in and out of SFO a couple times a year these days but I can at least check it out next time. Thank you for the information.

Nice! Thanks for posting. We seem to be at SFO several times a month. Haven't gotten tired of the museum yet, either!

We have used SFO for the last three summer for travel to Europe. Two RS tours and a Danube river cruise. I will be looking forward to giving this a try before our outbound flight going if we go out of terminal G. Off to A Best of Eastern Europe this summer.

Thanks for posting this. I'll be in San Francisco in May for a conference, and if I have time to kill at the airport upon departure (and can access the terrace from my departure gate) I'll check it out!
