Safe area in Paris

We have booked Beausejour Montmarte Hotel at 6 rue Lecluse in Paris in June. This is in the 17 District. We can cancel this hotel. I have heard the area is a bit seedy. Is that true?
Thanks

Carole, I'm not aware of that area being particularly "seedy", but hopefully pat or one of the others here that's more familiar with Paris can clarify that. The hotel gets really good ratings on Trip Advisor, and the management has responded to a number of the reviews, which is a good sign. The hotel seems to be in a reasonably central location, and there are convenient Metro stations nearby so you can be in other parts of Paris in just a few minutes. Happy travels!

There's a part of the 17th that is very posh indeed but the Beausejour is in the not-so-posh part. The hotel looks great ... I'd stay there in a flash.

It's not elegant Paris found in the 7th or 16th, but it's not seedy. It's work-a-day Paris where some people are living in beautiful hidden treasures, as well as some living in overcrowded quarters. You are within walking distance of two main department stores, the Jacquemart-Andre Museum, the Opera Garnier, Montmartre, St. Lazare station, and two metro lines. No bad.
