SAF bus from Stresa to Milan Airport

We will be flying out of Malpensa airport near Milan on a Sunday morning in late May, and have booked an airport hotel for Saturday night. We need to travel from Stresa to the airport on Saturday late afternoon or evening. Has anyone done this? Is the SAF bus the service to use? If so, how far in advance should we purchase tickets? If we can be flexible I’d love to wait until a couple of days in advance so we’d have a weather forecast and could decide whether to take the late afternoon or evening bus. But if seats tend to sell out, I’d definitely want to book in advance.
Is this service generally reliable? Is there any risk to taking the last bus — chance it might get cancelled? If you’ve done this I’d love to hear about your experience. Thanks!

Thanks — all the trains I’m seeing seem to have one change of trains. Can you tell me more about the nonstop?

1 hour 18 min
Stresa to Milan airport.
I change but it is still easy. Unless you are loaded down with lots of baggage, which I never am.
I stayed at Milan Sheraton in Terminal 1.
A few steps from the train to the hotel.

We've taken that bus. It was easy to do with no traffic snarls along the way when we did it in 2016.

We took that bus last May from Intra to MXP. It was great. It's more like a small tour bus than a big Greyhound bus. We booked a week out - I do think it's important to book ahead of time because they might not run if they don't have customers. Ours was the morning run and it was just us and one other couple (who did board in stresa).

It was pouring the day we left and so glad to be on the bus rather than having to deal with a train transfer, etc.

Hi, in June we are arriving in Malpensa airport and then traveling to Stresa. Can we get the bus right in the airport? It looks like we can but I am having trouble finding out how to get tickets in advance. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
