The Cologne Financial Journal is reporting today, April 1, it has received inside information that Ryanair will purchase the majority shares of Lufthansa. An announcement is expected next week. The merger is expected to close sometime in June when all Lufthansa flights will be operated as Ryanair flights Officials at Ryanair say this is the first step in it's move to dominate the world of discount air travel. Also announced were new fees include charging for all carry-on luggage bigger than a small laptop bag. Only wheeled luggage will be allowed in the overhead. If this is not purchased prior to arriving at the airport, and your bag is considered too big, it will not be allowed to fly on your flight. As a penalty, you will pay to have the bag transported but it will be on a later flight. They also announced they will increase capacity on all longhaul flights by at least 40% by making the entire aircraft one class. There will be one section of each longhaul flight that will be child free. To sit here will cost an additional $25-75 Euros depending on distance. No mention on whether or not they will charge for use of the toilet. Aibreán amadán/Ffwl Ebrill
I think I will post a link to this thread, over on FB in the same place I posted that I had re-enlisted today.
My understanding is that when the merger is complete the new company will be called "Mooch Airlines." With all the hassles and penalties why fly them???
Frank, methinks your post is in the spirit of Johnathan Swift's " A Modest Proposal".........
April Fool!
Lola...are you saying that you doubt the veracity of Frank's news flash? How could you? Why, I'm sure that I saw the same story on the "Onion"...........America's finest news source....
Moi? No, I ,m not saying it, Frank II did, in Welsh.
