Ryanair Delayed flight compensation

I am trying to file a claim for delayed flight compensation for a flight from Brussels to Zagreb. I have attempted to utilize the form on Ryanair’s website. The form asks for bank info specifically my bank’s SWIFT number and IBAN number. I called my bank and they provided me with the SWIFT number. My bank does not have an IBAN number which is used by European banks. I have attempted to input my bank’s routing number and my account number in the IBAN account slot, but the form will not accept it and will not accept my bank’s name and country also.

Has anyone had any experience in dealing with a delayed flight claim with Ryanair?

Do you know the cause of the delay? Because if it’s ‘outside of their control’ ie, French air traffic control on strike and that kind of thing, then they will refuse compensation and there is no point proceeding with the claim.

Open a Euro account with Wise to facilitate the payment with their IBAN. Transfer from there to your current bank if you want.

Yes we had a 6 hour delay in Palermo in March. You need to email them at cs.support@ryanair.com, AND call them in my experience.

I called first, was told no IBAN needed for the online form, which is not true. Then I emailed them and got the automated "we got your email and are reviewing" - but it included a case number. After several weeks of not hearing anything, I called and eventually got someone who took the case number to investigate. Not long after that I got an email response, which was "extraordinary circumstances, so sorry, EU261 does not apply." A little back-and-forth via email did not change their position.

Helen,
The Ryanair duty manager said the problem was caused by maintenance issues which required flying some technicians from London to Brussels during the night to fix the problem to allow for a departure the next day.

Thanks,
Marce

Maintenance issues are exactly the type of delay that EC 261 is designed for. The suggestion above to use Wise to get an account with an IBAN number is what you should do.

Well after about 7 weeks of email exchanges with Ryanair, we finally received a wire transfer for the EU 261 Delayed Flight compensation. I ended up emailing my bank routing number and account number after filing a complaint concerning inadequacy of their online claim form for wire transfers to banks in the Unites States.
